Prior to Brymo and his manager’s denial about the court injunction against him, our sources at the Federal High Court in Lagos have just informed us that Chocolate City had early this week gotten an injunction against BrymO via the Media Entertainment Law firm of L & A -Legal Consultants: restraining
him from recording, releasing, distributing any composition, song,
musical works or carrying out any activity as a recording or performing
artist through or for the benefit of any person or organization other
than CHOCOLATE CITY pending the determination of the suit against him.
We have it on good authority that Chocolate City, through its lawyers tried everything possible to amicably resolve the stalemate, infact the Arbitration clause in the recording contract was activated and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators took charge and appointed an arbitrator to settle the matter but BrymO refused to attend any of the settlement meetings. They had no other option but to protect their investment by going to court.
It would seem that our entertainment industry is getting more structured on a daily basis going by the way this is turning out.
More on this story as it evolves.
