Terry G – Fatherhood has humbled me

After brandishing the weirdo image for eight years, the Ginjah Master, Terry G, takes up a new character.

It is normal for an artiste to rebrand at some point in his or her career. For the once self acclaimed Gingah Master, Terry G, real name Oche Amanyi, that time is now.

After serenading fans and flooding the Nigerian music scene with his weird and wild persona, addictive auto-tune laced hits like ‘Testing Microphone’ and ‘Free Madness’, the singer, producer and music video director is carving out a new image for himself.

Apart from the fact that he now wishes to be referred to as Honourable Terry G, the Chaante Chante singer now possesses a calmer mien, which is evident in his response and disposition to questions posed to him by this correspondent.

For the 27-year-old singer, who has a son from his lover, Mimi Omoregbe, late last year, it is safe to say that becoming a father for the first time has given him a different outlook  of life.

“Having a kid has a lot to do with it. Sometimes you see life in a different way. You perceive it in another way another time. When I had a kid, I saw so much value in my life and the future. I became humbled and developed the mindset that anything that has to do with my future must automatically involve my son as well. I started changing a lot of things and it actually scared a lot of negative friends from me. It helped me resolve and re-organise myself again.

“In the past,  some children appeared scared to come close to me, but all that has changed. Fatherhood has been awesome, amazing and a miracle to me. My son is my replica.”

Shutting critics who often accuse him of singing ‘meaningless songs that sell nonetheless’, the Benue-State born artiste includes a love song titled ‘Love Affair’ in his recently released fourth album, Book of Ginger .
In the album, the artiste explores a variety of genres, which, he says,  depicts the many sides there are to him, musically and personally. Yet, despite the ‘bold’ move, he reckons that the feedback isn’t too pleasant.

He explains, “It was quite challenging because some people did not actually believe that it is Terry G. They were like: ‘Is this Terry G on the television?’ It was quite a big shock to them and so I got both positive and negative news , but with the negative topping the list.

“It was really shocking to them that I went R ‘n’ B. The romantic side of me has always been there despite the fact that I have been portraying a particular image all the while. In fact,  I used to sing love songs before I discovered the Terry G image. I felt that at this point in my career, I could risk doing something even though love songs are not commercially viable.”

With the new image, Terry G says,  he has been forced to adopt certain lifestyle changes.
“I still party because of what I do; you know our job requires you to party. But I prefer what I am now because I am more coordinated. I strongly believe that it is better to go out for a reason than for nothing,’’ he says excitedly.

During the course of this chat, the singer attempts to clear the air with regards to his controversial album titled ‘Terry Gzus’,  which was released in 2011.

According to the artiste who started out singing in his local church choir, the title was only a play on words, with no religious undertone whatsoever.

“With the title, Terry Gzus, I didn’t mean JESUS, I simply mean, GZUS. Because I knew the pronunciation sounded like the Jesus, I already foresaw that it was going to create a huge controversy but that was why I named it that way in the first place. But it was intentional; it means (Terry omo Jesu) and I chose not to say anything because I wanted the buzz,” he explains.

He is also quick to add that while he has gotten used to the controversies that usually trail him, an ‘erroneous’ story of hit-and-run involving him last year, nearly dented his image.

Although he refuted the allegation at the time, he says the damage has already been done.

“When I drive through certain neighbourhoods, people still yell at me, saying, ‘Baba hit and run’. I had nothing to do with the accident because I was in London when it happened.

“It was one of my boys that hit somebody with my car and not me, as reported. He was driving a Black Toyota Camry car when he hit the person and then ran away. Because eye witnesses did not see who the driver of the car was, they assumed it was me; perhaps this was due to my number plate. I had to part with nine hundred thousand naira for the person’s treatment,” He recollects.

I love this amebo work so much. Please, go follow @djayxbeat

Brymo Denies Court Injunction Rumors

Prior to Brymo and his manager’s denial about the court injunction against him, our sources at the Federal High Court in Lagos have just informed us that Chocolate City had early this week gotten an injunction against BrymO via the Media Entertainment Law firm of L & A -Legal Consultantsrestraining him from recording, releasing, distributing any composition, song, musical works or carrying out any activity as a recording or performing artist through or for the benefit of any person or organization other than CHOCOLATE CITY pending the determination of the suit against him.

You would recall that  BrymO walked away from his contract with Choc City and did not care about the consequences while his contract remains valid until 2016.

We have it on good authority that Chocolate City, through its lawyers tried everything possible to amicably resolve the stalemate, infact the Arbitration clause in the recording contract was activated and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators took charge and appointed an arbitrator to settle the matter but BrymO refused to attend any of the settlement meetings. They had no other option but to protect their investment by going to court.

It would seem that our entertainment industry is getting more structured on a daily basis going by the way this is turning out.

More on this story as it evolves.

Sean Tizzle - I never thought Sho Lee will be a hit

Rave of the moment, Sean Tizzle, discusses his new-found fame in this interview with  JAYNE AUGOYE
Fast rising Nigerian singer, Sean Tizzle, (real name Seun Morihanfen), announced his arrival on the Nigerian music scene early in the year, with the chart topping single, ‘Sho Lee,’ despite  having been  in the music business for five years.

Within a short time, it became a club hit, topped the charts and then found its way into the mobile devices of both young and old, as a ring tone.  With three hits and an album in the works, the 23-year-old singer is enjoying a meteoric rise to the top.

An excited Sean Tizzle, who says he earned his big break in February this year, says while he was confident that one of singles would become a hit, it has surpassed his expectations.

He says, “It is a great feeling to know my music cuts across both the young and old, but again I give God the glory. I mean, I make good music, so I believe all my songs are potential hit. I knew I would blow as an artiste, but I never knew it would be this soon. My sudden stardom has been a blessing from God and ‘Sho Lee’ was an inspiration from God.

“Two months after I dropped the song, it was everywhere.  It feels like heaven for me, like my life just started.  It’s a great thing for me.  It’s something out of this world.  The acceptance is awesome, I can’t explain it.  I just want to thank God and everybody for supporting me.

“Even my label boss never knew the track would be this big; he wanted us to drop something else, until someone convinced him.

The artiste, who is currently performing alongside Olamide and Flavour at the Cocobar.com Music Festival in the UK says he is not under pressure to replicate the success of his single, by following up with another hit, mama le, despite releasing both tracks in quick succession.  He also expresses optimism that the latter’s accompanying   video  which is laced with suggestive scenes, will survive NBC’s axe.

“I was not pressurised in any way. I had planned and sorted out  everying right from the time I was penning the track down to its release date. I harbour no fear that my video will be banned. But for now, let us hope and pray that nothing of such happens. I have recorded some songs that my team and I feel are  good enough for release, so I am working hard just to get it right.”

He is also quick to erase “an erroneous impression,” as he puts it, about being a one –hit-wonder with a wave of the  hand, saying, “I am in music for the passion and not necessarily for the commercial reason. That way, I can never end up as a one-hit wonder because my music is enduring and evergreen. Statements such as these do not put me under pressure because I know my worth.”

Despite being signed onto Difference Record which, coincidentally is being run by his producer,  D’Tunes, they appear very cordial and more like brothers.

Sean Tizzle says this is because they have both come a long way.
“Before D’ Tunes made his name with Iyanya, we have been friends. We met in 2009 and have been working together ever since. The label is more like a family. So we are too united to break up and that is a fact.”

In an era when artistes are quick to flaunt their latest acquisitions at any given opportunity, tattoo  loving Sean Tizzle, who admits to his love for piercing, says he earns a living the ‘clean way.’

“I am not from a very wealthy family. Most people assume I am one ‘yahoo boy’ – engaging in scams and advance fee fraud. I have paid my dues. At a time, I would go for shows without being paid and yet find my way back home. Today, I am happier for it because it was a fleeting stage in my career and  now, the opposite is the case,” he admits.

Honestly, i think Sean is Terry G Brother in dressing!!! don't know what you think about that.

Finally, Saro the Musical on stage

It is d-day for Saro the Musical as the production, described as Nigeria’s first broadway show, will open in Lagos. From today (Friday) to Sunday, lovers of total theatre, fashioned after FELA! Broadway Show but conceived to surpass the type of excitement generated by the likes of UMOJA, Saro the Musical is produced by Terra Kulture, Lagos Managing Director, Bolanle Austen-Peters, who assembled some 100 youthful actors to tell the story of Lagos in drama, music and dance.

The play will be premiered at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island. Some of the actors say they are eager to give the audience a lasting treat.

While the directors – including Makinde Adeniran and Ayo Ajayi – have also spoken glowingly about Saro, top players in the industry, who visited the artistes at different times in the course of rehearsal, had commended Austen-Peters for initiating the broadway project, which, they note, can change the fortune of live theatre in the country.

Among them are award-winning dramatist, Prof. Ahmed Yerima; veteran actresses Taiwo Ajai-Lycett and Joke Silva; EbonyTV Chief Executive Officer Mo Abudu; star singer Tuface and screen diva Dakore Egbuson.

Melissa McCarthy Defends Controversial Elle Cover: "I Picked the Coat!"

The actress recently became the center of a minor controversy for appearing on the cover on Elle — looking absolutely stunning — in a Marina Rinaldi coat, which many felt was used to conceal as much of McCarthy's body as possible. But according to the actress, she just wanted to embrace the changing seasons!
"What I found so bizarre is I picked the coat," McCarthy told E! News. "I grabbed the coat. I covered up. I had a great black dress on, but I thought, it comes out in November. I was so sick of summer. I live in Southern California. I was like, 'Give me a big coat to wear. Give the girl some cashmere!'"

McCarthy added: "I picked the coat. They were like, 'The dress is really great,' but I was like, 'Yeah, but look at this.' I was just shocked I didn't steal it. Now I think I really should have the coat. I'm petitioning for that coat. Give me that coat. I earned it, damn it!"
Elle also defended McCarthy's styling, which included voluminous hair partially covering her face. "On all of our shoots, our stylists work with the stars to choose pieces they feel good in, and this is no different: Melissa loved this look, and is gorgeous on our cover," the magazine said in a statement. "We are thrilled to honor her as one of our Women in Hollywood this year."

Kim Kardashian's Engagement Rings From Kanye West, Kris Humphries Compared!

She knows how to flaunt it! Kanye West put a ring on it and proposed to girlfriend Kim Kardashian on her 33rd birthday Monday, Oct. 21. Surprisingly (or not), Kardashian's new bling appears to be similar in style to her old one from ex-husband Kris Humphries.
The reality star's hairstylist, Clyde Haygood, shared a picture of Kardashian flashing her new bling on Instagram Monday. According to TMZ, the 36-year-old rapper proposed to the mother of his 4-month-old daughter, North, with a 15-carat diamond ring. A Lorraine Schwartz rep confirms to Us Weekly that the ring is a D flawless cushion cut and a perfect diamond. West and Schwartz worked together and he had a vision on how the ring should look.

Kardashian posted a close-up photo of her ring on Instagram on Tuesday with the stadium screen in the background. She simply captioned the photo, "YES!!!"
Humphries, whom Kardashian filed for divorce from after 72 days of marriage in October 2011, proposed with a 16.21-carat center diamond and two 1.8-carat side diamonds from Lorraine Schwartz. (Kardashian, not Humphries, initially paid for the ring.) The ring's initial reported worth was $2 million, but sold for a total of $749,000 at a Christie's auction in New York City on Oct. 15. A portion of the proceeds from the sale was going to charity.

PHOTOS: Kim Kardashian's love life
Though the rings may be similar, the proposals were very different. West popped the question in front of Kardashian's family and friends at AT&T Park in San Francisco by projecting "pleeease marry meee!!!" on the stadium screen. NBA player Humphries proposed in May 2011 in Kardashian's bedroom with candles and rose petals spelling out, "Will you marry me?" His proposal aired on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

PHOTOS: Kim Kardashian's post-baby body
And don't expect the weddings to be similar either. Kardashian told England's Tatler magazine in November 2012 that her next wedding won't be as big as it was with Humphries. "It had always been my dream to have a big wedding, and when people said that I'd made it over the top for the show, that was just me: I am over the top," she said. "But the next time, I want to do it on an island with just my friends and family and that's it."

Artistes who shoot obscene videos lack creativity – Cally Ikpe

As much as obscenity and nudity is paramount in most music videos in Nigeria, music entrepreneur, Cally Ikpe, has condemned such videos saying artistes who shoot those videos lack creativity.
According to Ikpe, people who celebrate obscenity only try  to hide under that to escape from their lack of imagination and talent.

Ikpe, the brain behind the Nigeria Music Video Awards, said such videos are automatically disqualified and don’t get any nomination in any category in the award.

“We campaign against such. If your video is in that category, it automatically disqualifies from entering for NMVA. You cannot offend people’s sensibilities. It is forbidden for a video that is obscene to earn a nomination. If it is done, then it is regrettable. We frown at what Nigeria frowns at. What the regulatory body doesn’t support, we don’t support it.”

Having been into the music award for seven years, Ikpe confessed that some Nigerian artistes try to lobby him in order to win an award.

“Some artistes directly come to me while some come indirectly for me to help them influence the award. They go through their managers. People believe that everything in Nigeria can be manipulated. What makes you think I can really influence the awards? It is a wrong notion. If an award organiser decides to choose the part of dishonour, he will regret it eventually.”

Giving the reason why he wouldn’t consider manipulating the award, Ikpe said, “There won’t be any amount of money that will erase the impression that people pay for the awards. If I sit back and watch the awards ceremony years later, I wouldn’t even have respect for who picked up the award. I would have done a great disservice to them. I have credible people as judges. These are people you cannot intimidate.

“I wouldn’t want to lose credibility. I want people to rely on me. That is the reason I feel insulted when people come to me to tell me that they want to win the award this year. If I knew I would influence the award, then why would I need the judges? That is why people won’t respect us as Nigerians.”

Granted that his NMVA is in its seventh year, some other awards have come up and Ikpe feels it is good for the music industry.

“It checks complacency. If you know  that some other awards are coming up to challenge your award then you sit up. But some awards come up for different reasons and purposes. If your reason is because of the money you want to make, before long, you will be exposed. A lot of awards have come up while some have also packed up.”

His award has not been without its share of controversies, the recent being the visible absence of Psquare’s video in any category.

However, in defence to that, Ikpe said the artistes requested they should be exempted from any award.
“I personally like PSquare and they have good videos. It is not my fault that they weren’t nominated in any category this year. For some reasons best known to them, the artistes said they wanted to be excused from any award this year. We were only respecting their decisions,” he said.

Brymo moves on

Last time Olawale Ashimi, popularly known as Brymo was in the news, it was about his fallout with his former record label, Chocolate City.
While the label accused him of insubordination, the singer claimed that the label breached his contact and did not give him time to work on his album.Right now, the son of a carpenter is set to release his new album which he recorded independently. When Saturday Beats contacted the singer, his phone was switched off but his manager, Lanre Lawal, told Saturday Beats that the dark-skinned singer has since moved on with his life. “As it is, we are moving forward and not looking back; we are okay and moving on. As it is, we are trying to keep the Brymo versus Chocolate city issue from the public. This album is a make or mar situation,” he said. Saturday Beats learnt that the artist intentionally hid from the public to work both in the studio and the gym. His recent photos show that the young man has been working out. It was gathered that his new look is part of the brand, Brymo.
He said, “It is a whole new chapter for the artiste and brand called Brymo even his new look. The album has a lot of music in it. I mean that because of its strong Afro-beat influence.“The major challenges he had after being on his own is the fact that the industry does not have a structure. He had to stay away from the public for three months. He was in the studio working. He is at a point where everything has to be done well. However, he is not under any pressure.”

Flavour keeps mum on neglecting Mc Loph’s mother

A Nigerian lady, Bianka Johnson, who resides in the United State of America claimed that high-life singer Flavour abandoned his childhood’s friend, MC Loph, mother till her death.
Johnson claimed that although she got the late woman’s contact from Flavour, she was shocked when she was informed that the singer never kept in touch with her. The lady also indicted Emeka Morgan, the CEO of Morgan Entertainment, Mc Loph’s record label.

She said that Mc Loph’s mother, who she referred to as Mama, said that the fair-skinned singer never called her since her son passed away.

“Flavour has not picked up the phone to call me since Obiajulu passed away, yet he made a hit tribute song on his behalf. May God be the judge,” she quoted mama.Johnson said, “I want to set the record straight. Since the death of Mama’s son, MC Loph, Flavour Nabania never called nor visited Mama and he never sent a dime to her for her upkeep.

Flavour hasn’t made any effort to reach out to Nkiru or MC Loph’s infant son. “Mama died from congestive heart failure exacerbated by heartbreak. But for the deaths of her two adult children at the same time, which took an enormous toll on her health, it is my belief that Mama would have lived longer,” she said. She further claimed that she took care of the old woman till she died.“I took care of Mama until she died to the best of my ability. Today, I am blessed to have an extra angel watching over me. She lost two children at the same time who can never be replaced but before she died, mama gained a grandson, a beautiful daughter in-law in Nkiru, and a daughter in me. Mama is gone, reunited with her children and I know she is at peace now. Mama will be buried on November 12, 2013,” she said.

However, when Saturday Beats contacted Flavour’s camp to react to the allegation against them, they refused to talk. His manager, Benjamin, stated that they had no comment on the issue.Benjamin said, “We don’t have a reaction to the story. We don’t have a comment. Yes, we have heard the story.”

When probed further, Benjamin said sacarstically, I’m sure you know what no comment means.”

I used to be depressed over my big size – Fiberesima

Funmi Fiberesima is a Nollywood actress and also a movie producer. She tells Ademola Olonilua about her style and her challenges in the movie industry
What would you say is the difference between fashion and style?
To me, fashion is what you wear and how you put your clothes together to express whatever you want to express. Style is basically who you are. A lot of famous people have said  fashion goes in and out of style but style is you. It is how you clothe. Fashion is the cloth you are wearing. Style is the total package.  I like to assemble my fashion pieces in a way that can express my true self at any time.
Would you go into the fashion industry anytime soon?
Someday, yes. I go to sleep watching fashion television. I hardly leave that channel. I am just a fashion freak.
Is it difficult for plus sized girls to get fashion items they love?
A lot of fashion designers generally like to follow the trend because they like people dipping their feet in the water to see that the trend does not carry them away. It is more like a business man’s mentality. Slimmer people tend to spend more money. They have been catered for. You find out that teenagers spend a lot on fashion items but how many 16-year-olds are plus sized? There are a lot more designs for slimmer people than for plus sized people. Plus sized people also have choices anyway. You can pick some pieces together and match them. I am plus sized and I have been trying to work on my figure and my shape. As a plus size, I used to be depressed any time I went to shop. The things I liked were not my size and the things I didn’t like could size me. I got a stylist that had her own shop and over time, she was able to cater for my needs. I found out that when I began to wear things that I liked, it was easier for me to lose weight. I began to like myself, I liked what I saw in the mirror and it was easier for it to translate into strength in the gym.
When you look in the mirror, what do you see?
I see a successful young lady. When I look at my body, I like the curves and my whole body figure generally.
What is your fashion weakness?
I think with the number of shoes I have, I would say shoes are my weakness.  I cannot say how many I have but I have so many pairs of shoes and I really mean so many pairs.
What is the fashion item you cannot leave home without?
I am known to leave home without everything. I don’t have a particular fashion item.
What is the most common fashion item you get as a gift?
Perfumes. I doubt if I have ever bought a perfume in my life. Thinking back anyway, I bought one but I gave the money to my cousin to buy it for me. I did not buy it myself. Before my perfume finishes, I get another bottle. People just buy perfumes for me.
What is your most expensive fashion item?
That would be my hand bag. I have a Roberto Cavalli bag that cost me above 1000 dollars. I cannot say the amount; some people can even yab me that it is not worth much when they are talking about Chanel Lego bags that costs so much more. I keep my shopping within my spending rate. Any bag above 1000 dollars is quite expensive for me.
How was growing up?
Growing up for me was not so much fun. I had so many challenging experiences that have turned me into who I am today. First, I was not among the people that formed the popular clique and I was not with the nerds either. I was in the middle. I was the kind of girl that had friends that wanted to talk to me only when their real friends were not around. As soon as their real friends came, they wouldn’t look at my side again. I could stand up and leave a circle that my friends were and they would not even notice my exit. I was that kind of girl.
How did that experience help you in life?
I learnt to be alone in a crowd. I learnt to create my own entertainment and my own life. Long before I started producing television and radio programmes, I could watch a TV programme with my eyes closed. I would just go to my room, lie on the bed, close my eyes and I would start thinking of a television programme and I would start watching it. Also, at home, it was too cool for me. I am the first born and there are three boys after me then my sister, she is the last girl. There wasn’t any girlie gist for me while growing. It was pretty lonely and tough because we lost our mother. I would not change anything that happened but it was a hard road to walk on.
When stepping out for an event what do you bear in mind while dressing?
I stay true to how I feel. If I don’t feel in the mood to go out, I can change my feelings with music. If I am going for an award for example, I’d most likely play a Kenny G song. Just to lift the mood and get in the vibe. It helps me to dress accordingly. Generally, I stay true to who I am.
What are the challenges you faced building your brand?
I was favoured by God because I did not need to go around begging for money to produce my movie. I had good people around me especially my family. They could have bailed me out of any terrible situation. I had some tough experiences; people felt that I was new in the industry and that is why I had no right to tell them what to do on my film. They say they have been in industry before I was born and would still be there way after I have left. I did not like the fact that I could not tell somebody what to do on my movie. I did a Yoruba film, Onikola. It is still a working title anyway.
Do you buy Nigerian designer’s clothes?
I like Nigerian designs when I see them but they are not readily available. You cannot just walk into a shop and see a Dasilva clothe there. Although there are shops like that, they are rare. I have not seen any and I wish I could go to one. I like what I see when I see them. I want to be able to shop their brand; go into a shop and see a Lanre Dasilva brand there. That hasn’t happened yet.  Because of this, I tend to shop more of foreign brands.
Do you make fashion errors?
Yes. My fashion error is when I wear a tight dress when I finish eating a meal. I look really funny when that happens; I look like a wall gecko. I look at myself and I am shocked.

Music Video Director, Sesan Blasts Davido, Calls Him Immature

Davido tweeted yesterday that the Skelewu video that went viral yesterday was leaked and not the official video. He also accused his music video director Sesan for the leak. Now Sesan has responded to all the accusations calling Davido irresponsible and immature.
See Tweet Below….
“My attention is drawn toward the chaos surrounding the release of the Skelewu video .
Myself and my team shot the video for Davido in Nigeria and to the best of my knowledge my client and his team were very happy with the result, when they watched/ and approved the video. If he has since had a change of heart, that is ok. I am not in any way responsible for the release of the video. I believe Davido and myself did a very good job regarding the video production and as a professional of over 10 years. I find it very irresponsible and immature if my client and his management publicly put out false statements/comments, in an attempt to tarnish my name, credibility and reputation.
I remain dedicated, humble, focused and as hard working as ever. Thank you to all my fans and industry professionals – Stay blessed.”Davido said he’s re-shooting the video with UK based music video director Moe Musa. See photos from the video shoot…

Lagos Deputy Governor Lambasts Iyanya’s Dancers - “You Are A Disgrace To Womanhood”

This is the best statement I have heard from a female politician in Nigeria. It was a beautiful performance from the sensational artiste, Iyanya and his dancers but the end really justified the means when the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Orelope Adefulire fired one of iyanya’s female dancers.
Read their conversation held at the closing ceremony of the MTN Lagos Street Soccer at the Campos Mini Stadium in Lagos Island below.
Deputy Governor: I guess you are professional dancers?
Iyanya’s Dancers: Yes ma!
Deputy Governor: If you must entertain without pants on, certainly not in a gathering like this. Just see how you are disgracing and degrading womanhood. Don’t try it again.
Iyanya’s Dancers: Yes ma!
Yes! It’s not just Iyanya’s dancers alone that engage in this kind of immoral costumes they dance with. Even, the popular dance queen and others are not left behind!

"I Must Marry' - Written by Charly Boy

Another piece from Charly Boy...enjoy...
Wanting so badly to get hooked is something many people seem to take far too lightly and for granted these days. Something some of them feel they should do to win acceptance from people and society. These days’ people look at the package and never the content, forgetting that marriage should be a life time commitment of two strangers. In some cases the marriage may workout, like, Charles and Diane, Tunde and Wummie. But most of the time it falls like a park of cards, because as people are rushing to get in, people are rushing to get out, at an alarming rate. Kai!!
These days break ups and divorce has become the trend as soon as the honey Moon is over. People use to think that divorce rate is only high amongst celebrities, but now, across board, couples are falling asunder,  going under the pressure of a very bad decision , just because they Must Marry.
In these hard times, people are blowing and burning pots of money on very fancy weddings that really don't last after the honey moon. In this age, some parents still pressure their daughters in getting married early. It's like, once your girl crosses the 30yrs bracket, they start to panic, getting anxious and putting pressure on their girl to get married, like it is that easy. She just can't go to the market and buy a husband, or can she? When the poor girl insists on finding her dream man, she is accused of being unserious. Parents please learn to back off joor, it's not by force. After all, are they the ones who will leave with the spouse?
There is nothing wrong with waiting for the right person, because if it is the razzmatazz of the wedding things that you enjoy, go ahead and throw yourself a big nonstop party for a whole week. After all, weddings are just one day event, but a marriage is supposed to be a life time thing. I know that weddings are fun, romantic and you can finally tell your girlfriends, boyfriends or your sugar daddy's that you have finally captured your own ‘mugu’. But has this guy been tried and tested? Dating and courting is a different matter from ‘Till Death Do You Part’. Living with one human being for the rest of your life. My sister look the thing well oooo. Bebe, do you have an idea how your guy functions in rough weather? When reality bites, is he calm or does he freak out? Do you share the same interest in some things? Bebe, before you rush into this marriage, it is important to learn where your partner stands on the bigger issues of your life together. Do you have the same values? Sit him down and have a long talk about these and other issues that are of importance to you, you may discover that chances of a long lasting marriage could be slimmer; women are intuitively wired to pick up these things. Are you a learner?
For me, I got hooked up with a woman I never saw coming and a woman I will never let go. When I met my wife, she was not even a girlfriend or a lover. I liked her physically, because she had and still have curves that men would die for, but she was never my idea of a wife. She kept hanging around like other beautiful women around me; it was more or less a platonic relationship. All the time I didn't know I was under the microscope of the FBI and the CIA. She was to tell me all this after our marriage. Even though we dated for about 3yrs, in my wildest dream I never saw her coming till one morning after sleeping over, she woke me up, looked me straight into my sleepy eyes and demanded that I marry her in the next few days or she will leave me. Wow! Before then, no one ever threatened me like that, no one ever gave me ultimatums. Who born them? Me CharlyBoy? Little did I know that this woman for years has been doing research on me, this woman has seen me ‘finish’, figured out how to arrest and deal with me. When I was much younger, I had a very violent temper, I was obnoxious. And she had witnessed me a few times in my rage with other women. "Ain't you afraid that I will hurt or harm you" to that she answered, "you can never hurt or harm me because I will never give you a reason to" hummmmmm!!!  Oh! See finish.
Bebe, it's easy to know what you are getting into. If in doubt, investigate, set exams for the guy. I believe women are emotionally smarter than men. You must know who you want to marry, it's important for your happiness. You don't deserve scrap especially if you are hardworking, intelligent, progressive and forward looking. Investigate him from all angles, don't be in a rush joor. You don't deserve that heartache because the way marriages are crashing, it's making me catch cold.
With the way things are going, very soon we will be throwing divorce parties and inviting friends and well-wishers to celebrate divorce anniversaries. They will choose asoebe, hire a big hall, with Dbanj as the entertainer and Julius Agu as the MC. Even questions like, "when are you getting your divorce" will be the buzz.
So if you know you can't handle the pressure, remain single. If the man is still under investigation, please take your time, don't rush. If you know that you are too horny to be faithful, biko remain single and have a ball. If you can't endure bad weather from time to time, stay in your father’s house joor. Never get married out of desperation or because other people are getting married.  If you want a beautiful home, like mine, examine your choice of a life partner, there are a lot of gigolos out there preying on desperate babes like you. But show them say you pass them. No be you?

Karen had breasts implants because of lumps found in her breasts' her PR claims

Karen Igho's PR team released a press statement today claiming that the BBA winner got breasts implants many years ago because of lumps found in her breasts - this is in reaction to a tweet from Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson's twitter handle during the twitter hacking brouhaha that occurred yesterday. (Read it HERE). See their press release below

Sometime yesterday whilst preparing for her promo photo shoot, Karen and the World PR Media camp got wind of a tweet that was sent to our client, Karen Igho.
Yvonne Nelson quoted as follows "fake boobs, no wonder you don't have a bf". When Karen got the alert, she made several personal gestures to clarify the position of the tweet and the tweetee, but none of the enquiries was answered and a claim of 'handle hacking' was implied by the Nelson camp.
Just to update the Nelson team since we can't reach you, Karen's resort to breast implants were as a result of lumps found and removed in her breasts. And can you also be a good role model to your own younger fans by resisting online bullying or any other type of bullying for that matter.

Sunny Okosuns’ family disowns ex-queen, Ethel, says she’s not their father’s daughter

That's strange. I've known Ethel for a while now and I've always thought she's the daughter of late music legend Sunny Okosuns...but the family is now saying she's not their father's daughter.

Ethel Okosuns won the Miss Earth Nigeria pageant in 2005 and is currently the project director of Exquisite Face of Africa pageant. In an interview with Vanguard just last month, Ethel talked about growing up as Sunny Okosuns' daughter and said she still missed her dad...

But the Okosuns family in a statement exclusively made available to Vanguard and signed by the singer’s son, Sidney Ehimare Okosuns disowned Ethel. The wrote:
"We wish to state categorically that Ms. Ethel is not our sibling. She is not the daughter of our father. Our father had four children: Sidney Okosuns, Michael Okosuns, Adesuwa Okosuns and Ebony Okosuns.
This is not the first time Ms. Ethel has … used our late father’s image and likeness as “name dropping” to achieve whatever affluence she seeks. She needs to stop identifying herself as the daughter of the Ozziddi great musician.

Years ago, Ms. Ethel as a teenager wondered into our Yaya Abatan home. Our parents ran a liberal attitude home, welcoming visitors and strangers to our sprawling Ogba Estate. Thus, our home was always busy with people from all walks of life.

Ms. Ethel walked into our home, pleaded with my dad that she wanted to sing and had no other place to live in Lagos. My parents welcome her to our compound, offered her unconditional food, shelter and love. She never left for several years. The generosity and kindness of providing her food and shelter does not give her automatic birth right to the Okosuns.”
